Bloating Relief | Everyday Digestive Health | SIBO Support
Atrantil is a new type of gut health supplement that has been created by a gastroenterologist. Its purpose is to alleviate symptoms such as bloating and abdominal discomfort which are caused by gas in the gut, regardless of whether constipation or diarrhea are present. Unlike treatments such as probiotics, Atrantil is unique in that it targets the problem bacteria and gas at the source, and as such Atrantil is the only natural, clinically proven product to treat digestive issues where they start in the small bowel. Developed using three natural botanicals, Atrantil is capable of providing long-term relief from these types of digestive problems while also promoting gut health. Atrantril is highly recommended by functional medical practitioners not only in Australia but worldwide for treating gut issues such as small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO).
Gastroenterologist Developed & Clinically Researched
After many years of clinical research and testing, Dr Brown and his team developed a natural patented combination of three botanicals containing polyphenols, which act as a postbiotic by feeding good bacteria in the gut. It has also been shown in clinical studies to support symptoms of digestive discomfort such as bloating.
A pilot study showed Atrantil improved constipation & bloating in patients diagnosed with constipation dominant Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS-C)
Another research study found in approximately 88% of patients diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation that supplemented with Atrantil for 2 weeks reported improved quality of life, improved abdominal pain, bloating and constipation.
How Does Atrantil Work?
Atrantíl uses natural botanical extracts to remove unwanted bacteria from the gut in a 3-step process. This helps to provide relief from uncomfortable bloating and abdominal discomfort while protecting your overall digestive health. these natural herbs help get rid of the hydrogen so that there is less hydrogen to be made into methane or hydrogen sulfide. Here are the mechanisms by which Atrantil works:
1) Peppermint Leaf - M. balsamea Willd extract
Peppermint, a natural polyphenol, has been found to have antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties and boosts your immune system as well. Studies have shown peppermint to be effective to improving irritable bowel syndrome symptoms. Atrantil uses the whole leaf extract of peppermint (not just oil) to briefly relax the small bowel and soothe/calm down the inflammation of the gut, which in turn allows the other two ingredients in Atrantil (quebracho and horse chestnut) to work more efficiently.
2) Quebracho extract - a South American hardwood tree
Quebracho is a hardwood tree indigenous to South America. Their notoriously dense wood earned them a name derived from the Spanish phrase, “quebrar hacha,” which means “axe breaker.” Quebracho is a source of the world’s most stable polyphenol. These polyphenols are what make quebracho an interest in medicine. Quebracho is a proanthocyanidin within the class of tannins, making it an extremely powerful antioxidant. As a polyphenol, quebracho is packed with beneficial antioxidants and provides anti-inflammatory properties. In the colon, it is broken down and acts as both a prebiotic and postbiotic. Quebracho tannin molecules readily bond to hydrogen, thereby reducing the amount of hydrogen subsequently made into methane – a major cause of bloating and discomfort. Because of quebracho’s unique antifungal and antibacterial properties, it is able to target the cell wall lining of the archaebacteria. Flavonoids from Quebracho soak up hydrogen and create an unfriendly environment for the archaebacteria. They weaken the cell walls—setting the stage for Atrantíl’s third botanical.
3) Horse Chestnut / Conker Tree Extract
Horse chestnut has been used for hundreds of years in medicine for a variety of conditions. From improving leg swelling to gastrointestinal problems, the use of horse chestnut as a supplement has long been documented and more recently researched.
Horse chestnut is a potent source of flavonoids and saponins, which gives it strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It also has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial properties as well. In Atrantil, the polyphenols of horse chestnut are used for a very specific purpose. Horse chestnut is a natural inhibitor to the enzyme that allows methane to be produced. Thus, horse chestnut finds where the cell wall of the archaebacteria has been compromised and shuts down the methane or hydrogen sulfide-producing mechanism of the archaebacteria, rendering them useless. This creates a hostile environment for the archaea and they go back into the colon where they belong. The second function of the Horse Chestnut is that it has bactericidal properties, which remove the bacteria from the small intestine as well, to get them to go back into the colon where they belong.
Contains natural antibacterial compounds that binds to the reductase enzyme in the weakened archaebacteria—stopping the methane production.

Double-Blind Study
In a double-blind clinical study of patients suffering from bloating, constipation and abdominal discomfort, Atrantíl proved to be more than 88 percent effective in relieving symptoms. The results of the study were published in the Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology Research – September 21, 2015 pp. 1762-1767.
Open-Label Study
The open-label study targeted the toughest-to-treat patients to illustrate the efficacy of Atrantíl. Before beginning the study, patients qualified to participate only after failing to find relief from at least four other therapies. The trial showed that 80 percent of patients found relief after using Atrantíl to control their bloating, constipation and abdominal discomfort. The results of the study were published in the World Journal of Gastrointestinal Pharmacology and Therapeutics – August 6, 2016 pp. 463-468.
FAQ
What is the difference between quebracho-colorado & quebracho-blanco ?
The bark of the quebracho tree is most commonly used to produce quebracho-blanco, though the heartwood of quebracho-colorado has been approved for use by a few select distributors. Most information currently available is on quebracho-blanco. However, in the realm of gut-related issues, quebracho-colorado is proving to be more beneficial and excels where quebracho-blanco does not. Atrantril is the only manufacturer with permission to use quebracho colorado
Is Atrantil a probiotic?
No. Atrantil is a herbal based supplement which does however have prebiotic properties.
What are the side effects of Atrantil?
The side effect profile for Atrantíl has been very minimal. A small amount of customers have seen some mild abdominal discomfort when taken on an empty stomach. Those symptoms are resolved when taken with food. Also, for some if their bacterial load is high they can experience temporary symptoms such as muscle ache, foggy head, headache, etc. This is believed to be a sign that Atrantíl is working and the reaction is related to toxins from the bacteria causing a mild reaction itself.
How long does Atrantil take to work ?
People suffering from occasional symptoms have seen results in a couple of hours after taking one dose of two capsules. We recommend that you continue to take Atrantíl up to three times a day until you achieve significant relief. With this schedule, you can typically expect to see relief in seven to 10 days. However, for some sufferers, it may take 20 to 30 days to experience significant relief.* *Individual results may vary
Can I take Probiotics or other supplements while taking Atrantil ?
It is ok to continue taking other supplements and digestive enzymes while taking Atrantil. However, we do not recommend taking probiotics while taking Atrantil, unless they are spore based, such as MegaSporeBiotic. The reason we do not recommend other kinds of probiotics in because, Atrantil works to get rid of the overgrowth of bacteria in the small bowel, which causes the adverse symptoms. By adding in more bacteria through probiotics, you are adding more fuel to the fire by putting more bacteria in the area we are trying to get rid of it. However, once Atrantil has had a chance to work and the small bowel is able to flow freely again, so that the bacteria flow into the colon where they belong, you can add back in the probiotics. But, if you do choose to take probiotics while on Atrantil, just know it may take longer to see results. And in that case, we recommend spacing them at least an hour apart from the time you take Atrantil.
