Butyric Acid / Butyrate

Butyric acid is a short chain fatty acid (SCFA) generated by enteric bacteria following fermentation of insoluble fiber and carbohydrates. Insufficient SCFA production in the gut due to intestinal dysbiosis, stress, medications, and other factors can lead to numerous systemic conditions. Emerging evidence suggests those with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) often present with gastrointestinal and immune derangements, inflammation, oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, and a history of exposure to environmental toxicants. Over 70% of children with ASD present with gastrointestinal issues. SCFAs directly affect the host digestive tract via epigenetic modulation of ASD-associated genes and act as major energy substrates for colonocytes. Research has shown some aspects of ASD may improve with butyrate supplementation. How do I add AuRx into my child’s/patient’s diet?

AuRx is designed to be easily added into daily meals. Simply mix 1-2 scoops into soft foods or beverages or as directed by a physician. AuRx should be consumed within 30 minutes of preparing.
